Ausangate Trek in Peru 4 days / 3 nights:

TOURS DAY 1:

TOUR CUSCO – OCONGATE – Tinki (3950 m.s.n.m.)

The departure is scheduled early in the morning in order to be able to stop along the route. We will pass through nice villages of the Andes in the heights of Urcos, the sightseeing offers us the spectacular view of the Vilcanota mountain range. After traveling for three hours, we will arrive to Ocongate, an important village of much historic significance. We will then reach the village of Tinky, at 3,850 m.a.s.l., to a nice and typical hostel, where we will spend the night. This is the spot where our trek begins Ausangate Trek in Peru.

TOURS DAY 2:

Tinki – UPIS (4200 m.)

After breakfast, we will start the trek towards the mountain crossing, at 4,500. m.a.s.l., in order to continue through the outskirts of the snow peak Ausangate towards the camping-site of upis. Along the way we will witness lagoons of a variety of colors, as well as grazing llamas and alpacas.

TOURS DAY 3:

UPIS – Pacchanta (4450 m.)

The next day, after having breakfast, we will prepare to start the trek towards pacchanta. The way is quite clear, with a continuous and moderate slope. The trek takes five hours, in front of a group of mountains, with a really marvelous scenery. The camping site is very close to the glacier, giving it a special location and nice view to take some pictures. Optionally, you may have a bath in the thermal waters close to the camping site.

TOURS DAY 4:

Pacchanta – Tinki (3950 m) – TOUR CUSCO

On the fourth day we will walk approximately for three hours to the village of Tinki. We will have lunch, and then take the return bus to Cusco.

Important for the trip to Ausangate Trek:

All the buses the coming back from the Inca Trail leave the passengers one block from the main square, you are going to return to the hotel by yourself.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Inka Jungle Trek to Machu Picchu 4 days / 3 nights:

1 Day Tours:

TOURS CUSCO – SANTA MARIA (biking and boating)

Pick you up from your hotel between 6:30 to 7:00 a.m. We begin heading towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas (Urubamba), to Ollantaytambo where we will supply water or other items needed for the tour, throughout this route can appreciate beautiful and scenic natural and cultural attractions. Arrive at approximately 11 am at Nevado Abra Malaga which is at an altitude of 4,350 meters, starting with bikes and descend heading towards the high forest, passing through small villages, orchards, rivers and streams. Arrive at the town of Santa Maria at about 3 pm. Then we are transported to specific point on the river to begin the Rafting or Canoeing which includes the respective helmets, vests and jackets gloves, this section has a difficulty III-IV with exciting rapids and some risk but all supervised and accompanied by a professional and in the company of a fleet of rafts and kayaks. After this exciting adventure we are transported in a private vehicle to maintain the security of our luggage and meet up with the group in the town of Santa Maria where we spend our first night in a family home.

2nd Day Tours:

SANTA MARIA – SANTA TERESA (walk) – Machu Picchu Inca Jungle Trek:

We got up around 5:00 am to enjoy a traditional breakfast, then start trekking along the banks of the river. Along the way we witness the flora and fauna as part of this hike is the original Inca trail. Then we can cross the river using a wire basket which is another adventure to remember. As we set out deeper into the forest, we will see some of the many fantastic bird species show their beauty and their sounds. Remember that in this part of the world, the jungle of the Amazon has the richest biodiversity on the planet. After a good lunch at the small village of Kellomayo, follow the route crossing waterfalls, streams, fruit plantations, reaching the hot springs of Santa Teresa which is a resort of medicinal and therapeutic waters. After relaxing bath continue our walk 40 minutes to the town of Santa Teresa where we spend our second night, settling into a comforting hostel.

Tonight is used by the majority to enjoy a ‘pisco sour’ in one of the small but cozy clubs of Santa Teresa, where We will establish lasting bonds of friendship with our group.

3rd Day Tours:

SANTA TERESA – MACHU PICCHU PUEBLO (Hiking)

This day will be marked by the discovery and history that our professional guide will describe the road as we cross paths who made the great explorers who discovered Machu Picchu and other important archaeological remains. After enjoying the scenery and a short rest descend to the Hydroelectric where we expect our lunch and then continue our walk enjoying the splendid waterfalls from glaciers, coca and coffee plantations of local people, continuing to through the train route to reach Aguas Calientes or

Machu Picchu Pueblo and settling into our Tourist Accommodation, with all necessary amenities like private bathroom, hot shower. You can also enjoy the hot springs village for an additional price. In the evening we will meet at a tourist restaurant where we will have the option of ordering a la carte and plan to guide the visit of Machu Picchu tours the next day. There we will spend our last night at the foot of the Great Machu picchu

4th Day Tours:

MACHU PICCHU (visit the Inka Citadel)

Around 4:00 am we get ready we headed to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu climb a path through the jungle, and having the opportunity to see the sunrise, after checking into the control of the park 6:20 a.m. appreciate sunrise if we are lucky, then continue the visit in Machu picchu accompanied by our professional guide who will share their knowledge with us for about two hours and then have free time to visit and hike in the Inca citadel Machu Picchu based on the return train schedule. If the body, time and luck allows us to be able to get permission to climb Waynapicchu (young mountain) the peak of the trip where we can enjoy and see far across the Inca citadel at its finest.

In the afternoon we descend to the village and return back to the train from Ollantaytambo to Machu Picchu Pueblo, where we will be picked up and taken by tour bus to Cusco, where the tour ends.
