CHOQUEQUIRAO TREK 5 days and 4 nights
The archaeological site of Choquequirao is located at 3050 m.s.n.m. where it is considered as “the last refuge of the Inca State”.
DAY 1 .- CUSCO – CAPULIYOC- CHIKISKA-ROSALINA BEACH
We leave Cusco at approximately 04.30 am, arriving at the town of Curahuasi where we will have our first breakfast, arrival time approximately 3 hours. Then we went to the pass of Capulilloc passing through the villages of Saywite and Cachora; where we organize ourselves in our team in mules where we will start our trek descending. From this place you can see the majestic Padriyoc and Wayna Cachora snowy peaks, you can also see the beautiful change of landscapes from precipices to the Apurimac Canyon with its impressive depth and in chikiska we will have lunch with the chef staff, after tasting lunch we will go to our PLAYA-ROSALINA camp where we will spend the night and have dinner.
DAY 2. – ROSALINA BEACH – SANTA ROSA – MARAMPATA- CHOQUEQUIRAO
Early in the morning after breakfast, we continue our hike ascending through the towns of Santa Rosa and Marampata where we can appreciate a spectacular landscape and from Marampata we continue to the arqueological complex of choquequirao approximately 01.30 minutes, during the walk you can see the Shock complex near this complex we will have our lunch and camp.
DAY 3.- CHOQUEQUIRAO- MARANPATA
After breakfast we will go on the guided tour all day of the Inca construction “choquequirao” moment to enjoy this majestic place, where we can appreciate houses, terraces, main square, priest’s house, usno, main palace, the llama sector and others that are in full restoration and maybe we can observe “The flight of the condors”.
• The guide will explain the history and the importance of the site and after the tour we will return to our Maranpata camp where we will spend the night.
DAY 4.- MARANPATA-CHIKISKA
After an early breakfast, leave MARANPATA and descend back where we will once again observe the Apurimac Canyon, the lush vegetation, its flowers and orchids arriving at PLAYA the lunch spot and then we will have a prolonged nap of approximately 1.00 hours to continue with our walk ascending to our CHIKISKA camp where we will have dinner and spend the night.
DAY 5. – CHIKISKA – CAPULIYOC- CUSCO
Early in the morning after breakfast we continue our way ascending in which we can appreciate again the majestic snowy Padriyoc that decorates the Apurimac Canyon, where we arrive to Capuliyoc where we will have lunch and wait for the transport which will return us to Cusco.
